Want To Get Started In Real Estate? Why You Need To Learn How To Fail To Become A Real Estate Investor.
Starting anything new can be a little daunting, and I totally get it. We all start new things.
When you're a beginner, it just means you're the least experienced. You have more things to discover and you have more available results to achieve.
Whether it's real estate investing, jumping out of a plane, walking, or talking… you must go through the exact same process every time.
In order to make this real estate thing work for you, you're going to have to learn how to fail fast, fail forward, and fail frequently.
This is a process that your brain must go through. It's called the “Four Levels Of Learning”.
At the beginning – or right now – you don't know what you don't know. We call that unconscious incompetence. As you read this, you're becoming aware that you might not know a whole lot, and then eventually you have to become consciously competent. That’s when you know what to do, but you have to think about it. Eventually, you want to become unconsciously competent in a variety of ways.
You are already unconsciously competent in some areas because if I ask you your name, you don't have to think about it. You know how to tie your shoe and you may even know how to drive a car.
All of these things are a process where you just have to take one step at a time.
We always take our book knowledge and compare it with experiential knowledge. Things like writing offers, talking to people, and being a generally good person to talk to and do business with is how you get started.
The bottom line is this – if you don’t learn how to fail, and fail fast, then you won’t develop the skills and knowledge to navigate the real estate industry with ease.
So as your friend, I challenge you to fail this week.
