Change is good. Run toward the new normal.

Change is an inevitable part of life. And right now...we’ve all had to make some pretty big changes pretty quickly whether we like it or not.

And to recover from this huge shift in life....work….the economy...just to name a few — we’re going to have to keep changing.

The funny thing about change, though, is that the actions we need to take to make it happen are rarely the hardest part. The hardest part is overcoming all the reasons we tell ourselves we can’t do it. Fear.

The comfort we have is knowing eventually this will all be over.

And we have two options when it comes to dealing with our new reality — we can run away from it. Or we can run towards it.

And if you’re like me...the second option should EXCITE you.

We’ve been given the opportunity to change our roles in the world and how we see ourselves. Because we’re all in this together, and many of our existing circumstances have been ripped out from underneath us.

How we have more time to think about what we really want out of life. All those basic everyday distractions...like restaurants...or going to the movies...or hanging out with our friends...are gone.

And we can dwell on that truth...or we can take advantage of it.

It’s only temporary, after all.

Now we have the chance to become something different.

The opportunity to shape our identity after what we actually want.

So...what do you want to be when you grow up?

When’s the last time you thought about that, right?

Take a look at what you’re doing now versus where you wanna be.

Maybe your priorities have shifted over time and your identity no longer lines up with your role in the world. Or maybe you were thrust into a role you didn’t even want in the first place and this is the first time you’ve been able to truly consider what you want your ideal future to look like.

Write it down and take a look.

Are you excited? Are you jumping out of your seat ready to get started?

I can feel it.

But it’s not gonna be easy, right? I can guarantee you that there will be struggles. And it’s not easy to feel okay about struggling...when so much of our society tells us struggling equals failure. Because it doesn’t. It’s part of GROWTH.

The benefit of right now is that we’re all struggling TOGETHER. No one can hide it. And neither should you.

We’re all being forced to change in one way or another — and with change comes some bumps in the road. No one looks cool right now. We’re all a little freaked out.

So how do you do it? How do you get started on your ideal path?

You’ve gotta believe in yourself.

Way back when I first got started as a real estate investor, I was knowing the struggle pretty up close and personal.

I was living in a bank-owned home… which made it pretty hard to FEEL like a real estate investor.

So instead of dwelling on that...I told myself this one thing: “Real estate investors write offers.”

I said those words to myself over and over again anytime I started to doubt myself. And eventually it became easier to see myself as a real estate investor — because I was one!

And lo and behold, writing offers turned out to be the solution to my doubts about whether I was a real estate investor or not.

Because the truth is, sometimes our realities don’t match up to what we know we’re capable of inside.

We have to build up evidence to show ourselves that we are what we say we are.

So...just because your reality doesn’t look like it did last month...doesn’t mean what you’re capable of has changed.

You just need to remind yourself what you want and how you can get there.

So what evidence are you building up?
