  • Who is Steve Sims?

The simple answer is that Steve is an uneducated east London bricklayer. Steve saw his entire future laying bricks one day while he was on the job and decided that he wanted something different. He took a chance a tried to get a job as a stockbroker. Steve tends to go through closed doors just to see what’s on the other side. After finding himself in Hong Kong, Steve was firmly out of the bricklaying industry and on the path to his current life.

  • Dealing With Fear

We have a long list of why something won’t work. People are more afraid of fear itself than the actual thing they are afraid of.

Steve believes that it was not really courage that allowed him to achieve the things he has, it was more stupidity. He was ignorant to why some people would be afraid of certain things, and so he didn’t know why he shouldn’t do it.

Get out of your own way. Most people love to sit in the rut. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Be fearful of not trying something instead of trying and failing. People will never run as fast to something, as they will running away from something.

  • Why did you write the book?

Steve has done a number of media appearances and people have always told him to write a book. He realized that the majority of people he associated with were entrepreneurs already and interested in how he does what he does. Steve decided to write the book as a playbook that simplifies the process and shows you exactly how to build the relationships that can transform your life.

  • What are the top three experiences you’ve created?

Steve has a phenomenal relationship with Elton John and his crew which allows him to hobnob with many world famous musicians. Steve managed to book the Academia in Florence for a dinner for 6 where the had dinner in front of Michelangelo's David. He also managed to recreate the first time a client met his wife down to the very last detail.

  • What is an experience that you’ve wanted to have?

At the age of 51, Steve doesn’t have any particular desire for experiences that he hasn’t had. If it wasn’t for his clients, his life would be very simple. There is no better drug of choice than watching someone’s passion explode.

  • How important is the concept of mission?

The first time you screw up in business is when you start looking at the mission as a way to make money. We should all be on the hunt for the 5% of abilities that only we can do and outsource the rest.

  • Why BlueFish?

Steve used to have his clients use passwords in order to get access to a party. After a while, his business came to be known as the Blue Fish company and despite Steve’s effort to rebrand everything has stuck with it.

Break down your dream into millimeters. In order to achieve your goal you have to know where the goal post is and take immediate steps toward it. Make sure you do something this second to get yourself closer to your goal, and the best part is that once you start moving, it’s easier to keep going.
